Tracking Link

GlossaryTracking Link

A tracking link is a URL with tags added to the end. It is used to manage, monitor, and measure the effectiveness of campaigns, channels, and all marketing activities. Tracking links ensures that your recipients interact with your links or take the action you want them to take in your emails.

You can use tracking links to monitor traffic sent to emails, landing pages, PPC campaigns, websites, social media, or banner ads. The tracking links usually look like normal URLs but have tags attached. The tags indicate where the visitor comes from, what content they engage with, and which campaign the content relates to.

Although tracking links tell you how many clicks your links have, they could also be used to gather detailed data on user behaviour, such as how visitors found you, why they are visiting your marketing campaigns, and who they are in person.

This will not only help you track the results of your email marketing campaigns, but it will also help you improve future campaigns and get to know your audience better.

Benefits of Tracking Links

Better Campaign Analytics

Email marketers need all the information they can get on their customers; they need to know where their customers or prospects started their journey, which keyword got the most attention, which content got the most engagement, and which demographics responded to which content.

Link tracking lets you get all this information and enhance your email marketing strategies to produce better results.

Increased Engagement and Conversions

Tracking your conversions becomes much easier when you have a unique campaign URL. When you track this URL, you will have enough data to craft more engaging email campaigns that are more likely to convert.

A Stronger Understanding of Audience Behaviours

The tracking link is also a great way to understand your audience’s behaviour. People’s interests can change, but if you are current with their activities, you can adjust your campaign according to their needs and interests. This will help you create more personalised email campaigns and build better relationships with your audience.
